TerraXplorations, Inc. (TerraX) of Mobile, Alabama was contracted by Trileaf Corporation (Trileaf) of Maitland, Florida to conduct a Phase I archaeological direct effects and visual effects survey for the proposed Jonesboro Road cellular tower in Fulton County, Georgia. The proposed tower will be a monopole type constructed to a height of200 ft. The Area of Potential Effects (APE) for direct effects includes a proposed 100-x-100-ft lease area with a joint access road and utility easement extending 1335ft in length by 30ft in width from Goodson Road. The total area of the direct effects APE including the lease area and joint access and utility easement amount to 1.17 acres.
Background research and the field survey followed guidelines established under the FCC Programmatic Agreement. No previously recorded archaeological sites or NRHP listed properties are located within the .5 mile APE. During the course of the field survey portion of this archaeological assessment, no archaeological cultural resources were encountered. A review of recorded historic properties at the Georgia Historic Preservation Division in Stockbridge, Georgia also revealed no previously identified resources in the .5 mile visual effects APE.
As a result, the proposed Jonesboro Road cellular tower is expected to have no effect on any significant historic or prehistoric resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the NRHP.
