Abstract

The purpose of this project is to install new high mast lighting at the interchange of Interstate 59 (I-59) and State Route (SR) 136 in the city of Trenton, Georgia (Figure I). The existing typical section of I-59 consists of four 12-foot travel lanes, two in each direction, with a 64-foot depressed grass median, 2-foot inside shoulder and 10-foot outside shoulder. Existing Right of Way (ROW) along I-59 ranges between 300 and 694 feet. The proposed project length is approximately 0.7 miles, starting l,000 feet south of the northbound exit ramp and ending approximately 1,000 feet north of the southbound exit ramp. The proposed project will consist of geotechnical work (drilling, soil samples, etc.), laying foundations for the high mast poles, and installing all new high mast lighting and associated systems. The typical section will not change from existing, no work is being done to the roadway, and all work will be done with in existing ROW. No additional ROW, temporary or permanent easements are expected.

This addendum report addresses changes in high mast pole locations. Plans dated July 7, 2017 show two locations where high mast lighting poles are planned to be located outside of the original April20 17 APE. One location is on the northbound side of l-59 at the southeastern comer of the April 2017 APE and the second is located off of the northbound on-ramp from White Oaks Gap Road to 1-59. These locations extend the project limits by 205 feet south along I-59 and 58 feet east along White Oaks Gap Road. In addition, this addendum report addresses concerns raised by the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (SNO) regarding potential adverse effects to a nearby archaeological site regarding the security of the site and the potential for artifacts to have eroded into the northern portion of project area.
