Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The proposed undertaking would include a proposed 1,563 square-foot ( 145 square-meter) lease area that would include a 179-foot overall height monopole telecommunications structure and associated ground-level support equipment. The proposed lease area would be accessible by a proposed 20-foot long by 17-foot wide (6-meter by 5-meter) access/utility easement. The subject site is located at 700 Doug Davis Dr, Hapeville,

Fulton County, Georgia.

This archaeological assessment was conducted in order to ascertain whether the proposed undertaking, on the project site, might directly or indirectly affect cultural resources, if any such resources exist. Through our review of available cultural records and databases, we found no previously recorded archaeological sites and thirteen surveys (2823, 3210, 3240, 3806, 4298, 6052, 6356, 8125, 8154, 8169, 8536, 8836, and 9205) within the 1-mile background research radius. During the course of the field survey portion of this archaeological assessment, no archaeological cultural resources were encountered.

We conclude that the undertaking would not affect any historic or prehistoric archaeological resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Therefore, for archaeological cultural resources, we recommend a finding of No Effect for the proposed undertaking at the project site.
