Abstract

This report summarizes archival research and archeological monitoring for the installation of irrigation lines and the re-sodding of a quadrangle on the North Campus of the University of Georgia (Figure 1). The project called for the existing grass to be removed, compost applied to prepare the ground for laying down the sod, and the installation of irrigation lines. The Facilities Management Grounds Department removed the existing grass and prepared the ground for the placement of the sod by a subcontractor. It was anticipated that new sprinkler heads would be needed but it turned out these were not required. Joel Jones visited the site three times during the month of June.
