Abstract

"In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project AHL- 347(5) , Hall County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

This project proposes to widen and realign S.R. 347 from a point approximately 1,400 feet west of the I - 985 interchange to the entrance of Holiday Marina. The project is 3.8 miles long and would require a right- of-way of 100 feet. An archaeological survey consistent with the proposed corridor was conducted for the entire alignment.
