"In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project BRZLB-169(3), Jones County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. Project is the replacement of the bridge on Jones County Road 35 over Chehaw Creek. The project corridor is approximately 1400 feet long by 50 feet wide. There is to be some new right-of-way acquired for the construction of the bridge and the approaches.
