On December 28, 2017, R.S. Webb & Associates conducted a Phase I archeological field survey of two stream corridors added to the Big Indian Creek mitigation site in Carroll County, Georgia. The entire 70-hectare (173-acre) mitigation site was surveyed by R.S. Webb & Associates in 2013 and resulted in the recordation of six prehistoric sites and one prehistoric isolated find; all resources were determined ineligible for the National Register of Historic Places (Figure 1). The details of this survey and the resources recorded can be found in the report entitled Phase I Cultural Resources Survey Big Indian Creek Mitigation Site Indian Creek Water Supply Reservoir Project Carroll County, Georgia, Final Report (Webb et al. 2013). Each additional stream corridor is approximately 15 meters (m) wide. Stream Corridor 1 is about 168 m long, while Stream Corridor 2 is approximately 70 m in length. Both corridors extend into private adjacent property (Figures 1 and 2). As part of the Big Indian Creek mitigation site, project activities will be confined to the surface or subsurface and will not extend beyond the horizontal buffer established around each stream (15 m in width). On this basis, the project Area of Potential Effects was set at the limits of each stream corridor (Figure 2).
