Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project MR-7007(2), Richmond County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

This project proposes to widen Windsor Springs Road from I-520 to Tobacco Road--a distance of 3.8 miles. From I-520 to Meadowbrook Drive an eighty-two foot right-of-way would be required (existing R/W is 50' to 60') and from Meadowbrook Drive to Tobacco Road an additional sixty feet would be required. A survey consistent with the corridor was conducted for the length of the project.
