Abstract

The proposed project would consist of the milling, inlay, resurfacing, shoulder building, bridge joint replacement, wheelchair curb cuts, and placement of pavement markings on SR 37 in Mitchell County, Georgia. The proposed project would begin on SR 37 approximately 586 feet west of Pinecliff Road and continue southeasterly/easterly to an end point approximately 1954 feet east of Bailey Drive (generally MP 6.4 to MP 1 0.6). All work will be restricted to within the existing right-of-way. Pursuant to the February 2000 memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
