Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project F-042-2(18), Baldwin County has been surveyed with respect to archaeo1ogica1 resources,

especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) . The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

The project proposes to widen a section of S.R. 24/ U.S. 441 in the north Milledgevil1e area. The project begins on U.S. 441 /S. R. 24 at the Georgia Railroad crossing and ends at the intersection of West Gwinnett Street. The total length is approximately 0.15 miles. An area consistent with the project corridors was surveyed.
