In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project F- 005 - 3(9), Bibb County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. Project F-005-3(9), Bibb County represents a proposal to widen and reconstruct Jeffersonville road from the existing four-lane section at Ocmulgee East Boulevard to Irwin Road. Also, including a short portion of Irwin Road from the intersection with Jeffersonville Road to a point just northeast of the intersection.
