The subject project would consist of the jacking of several bridges in Cobb and Catoosa Counties to obtain clearances below the bridges of 17 ft. All bridges are over roadways with no drainage crossings. The proposed project would include bridges at the following locations:
Cobb County
Allgood Road over I-75
Shiloh Road over I-75
Six Flags Road over I-20
Factory Shoals Road over I-20
Catoosa County
Post Road over I-75
No earthwork would be involved in the jacking of these bridges. No acquisition of additional right-of-way or construction would be required to implement the project.
According to 36 CFR 800.2(o), an "undertaking" consists of "any project, activity, or program that can result in changes in the character or use of historic properties, if any such properties are located within the proposed project's area of potential effects . . . "
This project does not have the potential to result in changes to the character or use of any historic properties; therefore, the subject project does not constitute an undertaking. This finding fulfills the Department's requirements under Section 106.
