Abstract

In compliance with Section l06 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project BRS- 0577(2) Candler has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

This project takes place in two locations on S. R. 46 in Candler County. Location 1 is the replacement of a bridge over the Canoochee River. The project will be accommodated by the existing right- of- way in a corridor 1500 feet long and 200 feet wide. Location 2 is the replacement of a bridge over Sam's Creek. This project is within the existing right-of-way in a corridor 1700 feet in length and 100 feet wide.
