Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project BRF-097-1 (12) has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

This project is the replacement of the bridges over the Canoochee River and an adjacent overflow slough on GA 23. The project is within existing right-of-way in a corridor 4,500 feet long by 100’ and 200’ wide.
