This is a Georgia Department of Transportation project, S-2189(1) and is located in Jefferson County. An archaeological survey was made in the area of proposed bridge construction. A number of chert flakes were found on the road bed leading up to the present bridge but this soil is apparently not derived from the immediate area. No artifacts were found along the creek itself, nor in the woods near the bridge. No further investigations are recommended.
