Abstract

Archeological Assessment of a Calhoun County Resurfacing Project. This proposed project would improve SR 62 beginning at the intersection of SR 45 (M.P. 0.32) and ending at the Calhoun/Dougherty County Line (M.P. 18.08). This project proposes to reconstruct the existing shoulders from a maximum distance of 4' from the edge of new pavement. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way, no new right-of-way is required. Total project length will be 18. 15 miles. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
