Abstract

Archeological Assessment of an Oconee County Off-System Safety Improvement Project. This project consists of installing standard road signs, roadway striping, stop bars, raised pavement markers (RPM), rumble strips, and guardrail. Attached is the list of locations and the improvements each will be receiving. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way with no new right-of-way required. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
