In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, BHF- 202-1(4), Habersham County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the proposed project' s area of potential environment al effect. The proposed project consists of the lengthening of the existing culvert and widen the shoulders of SR 115 at Yellowbank Creek. Also included in this project would be the replacement of the guardrail from approximately 40m (131ft) south of Yellowbank Creek to approximately 40 m (131ft) north of Yellowbank Creek. The existing right-of-way is approximately 15.2m (50ft). Required right-of-way would be approximately 20 m (66ft). An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted along the entire project corridor.
