Abstract

The project area is located in southwestern Cobb County, Georgia, within the Mableton (1954, 1992), Georgia 7.5-minute U.S. Geologic Survey (USGS) quadrangle. The study tract covers 18.5 ha (46 acres) and is bounded by Glore Road and Floyd Road to the north, and by private property to the east, south, and west (Figure 1.1). Located in unincorporated Cobb County, north of the city of Mableton, the project area is surrounded by middle to late 20th-century residential development. The proposed undertaking is residential development with single- and two-story homes/housing units, road/utility corridors, and green space (Figure 1.2). The project Area of Potential Effects (APE) for direct impacts was set at the project area boundaries. Because of the relatively low profile and residential nature of this project, the project APE for indirect impacts was set at 30 m beyond the project area boundaries.
