Abstract

Greenhouse CONSULTANTS incorporated completed a Phase I archaeological survey of the approximately 71.5 acre Dry Pond Road tract in Jackson County, Georgia. The purpose of this investigation was to identify cultural resources within the project area and to evaluate those resources against the criteria for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Fieldwork for this investigation was undertaken during February 2017.

No previously documented archaeological sites, National Register properties, nor historic structures were recorded within the direct project property Area of Potential Effect (APE). Our field investigation documented four (4) archaeological sites, two (2) structures within the survey tract and three (3) within a 250 meter radius. All four of the archaeological sites and all five of the structures do not appear to meet NRHP eligibility requirements therefore we recommend no further work nor preservation.
