The proposed project would consist of improving the skew angle of State Route (SR) 12/Covington Highway and Cove Lake/Wellborn Road from approximately 43degrees to approximately 70 degrees in DeKalb County, Georgia. A dedicated left turn lane would be added to southbound Cove Lake/Wellborn Road. Sidewalks would be added to both sides of SR 12/Covington Highway and Cove Lake/Wellborn Road throughout the length of the project, and lighting would be added to the intersection. Right-of-way (ROW) limits have not yet been determined, but will be within a corridor that extends 990 feet west and 540 feet east along SR 12/Covington Highway, and approximately 1,350 feet north along Cove Lake/Wellborn Road to the intersection of DeKalb Medical Parkway.
