Project would include paving two feet of existing shoulder on each side of SR 86, as well as leveling and resurfacing SR 86 in Emanuel County, Georgia. The entire length of the project is 4.92 miles. No additional right-of-way will be required. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Authority (FHWA), the State Historic Preservation Division of the Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the NRHP.
