Abstract

The proposed project will replace existing sidewalks on the east side of James Brown Boulevard (9th Street) in the city of Augusta, Georgia. The James Brown Boulevard project limits begin at Laney Walker Boulevard and end at Twiggs Street. Existing sidewalk on the east side of James Brown Parkway is in poor condition and needs rehabilitation to meet Americans With Disabilities (ADA) requirements. In addition to the new sidewalk, pedestrian lighting will also be installed. All work is anticipated within existing right-of-way (ROW), which is approximately 27 feet from the edge of the pavement, with the possibility of some area of temporary easement for construction. Sidewalk improvements will comply with current ADA requirements. The project length is approximately .3-mile long.
