Project MLP-6 (31) Douglas County is located on Sweetwater Creek crossing Thornton Road (State Route 6) between 1-20 and State Route 8 in Douglas County south of Austell, Georgia. The purpose of the project is to provide additional lanes due to traffic Increase by widening the existing road and bridge on the south side. The project will discharge approximately 16,000 cubic yards of embankment material, obtained from highland source, below the 100-year elevation covering 1.1 acres. No wet land is Involved. Erosion control for shoulders and slopes will be grassing with straw mulch stabilization and baled straw. Bridge end rolls will be protected with stone rip rap.
