Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The proposed undertaking would include a proposed approximate 3,640 square-foot (338 square-meter) lease area that would include a 134-foot overall height monopine telecommunications structure and associated ground-level equipment. The subject site is located at off of Ronald Reagan Blvd, Alpharetta, Forsyth County, Georgia.

This archaeological assessment was conducted in order to ascertain whether the proposed undertaking, on the project site, might directly or indirectly affect cultural resources, if any such resources exist. During our database research, we identified two previously recorded archaeological sites (9FO563 and 9FO564) and ten survey reports (1680, 2431, 2972, 3643, 3944, 4472, 8141, 8542, 9243, and 9568) within our standard 1-mile background research radius. None of the surveys were identified within our project’s APE for direct effects. During the course of the field survey portion of this archaeological assessment, no archaeological cultural resources were encountered.

We conclude that the undertaking would not affect any historic or prehistoric archaeological resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Therefore, for archaeological cultural resources, we recommend a finding of No Effect for the proposed undertaking at the project site.
