Abstract

The purpose of this project is to replace a structurally deficient bridge (Structure ID 159-5010-0) carrying Pitts Chapel Road/County Road (CR) 16 over Pittman Branch in Jasper County, Georgia (Figure 1). The existing Right-of-Way (ROW) measures approximately 60 feet from centerline.

No temporary roadways or bridges were proposed for this project. This bridge replacement project is part of the Low Impact Bridge Program (LIBP). These projects allow for a quick program delivery and limit impacts to sensitive environmental resources.

The project was originally surveyed in July 2017 for archaeological resources. Changes to the project have occurred since the original archaeological assessment. Small amounts of easements have been added to the project to aid in the construction of the project. Approximately six feet of easement on the east side of the project extend beyond the original survey limits for a length of 623 feet.
