Archaeological Assessment of Project BRZLB-137(9) Habersham County

Abstract

In compliance with Section ยท106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto. project BRZLB- 137(9), Habersham County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources. especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate. identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. Project BRZLB- 137(9) proposes the construction of a bridge culvert and approaches on County Road 245 over Raper Creek. The project length is approximately 630 feet within a 50-foot-wide corridor. There is an acquisition of new right-of-way for the realignment of C.R. 245 and easements for the construction of a channel. A complete surface investigation was carried out on the new right-of-way.
