Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project BRZLB-1 59(6), Jasper Co., has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. This is a bridge replacement on new alignment over Shoal Creek on County Road 23. The project is 1,600 feet long and will be built on a right -of-way of 100 feet. Beginning south of the existing bridge, the new alignment will run west of the present facility, crossing it at the existing bridge and then running east of the existing road until rejoining it.
