Abstract

The subject project would consist of the milling, leveling, and resurfacing of SR 27. The proposed project would begin at the intersection of SR 3 (MP 14.20) and would end at the asphalt overlay joint approximately 297 m (974 ft) east of Cherokee Street in the city of Americus. No earthwork would be involved in the process of milling, leveling, and resurfacing of the existing roadway. No acquisition of additional right-of-way or construction would be required to implement the project.

According to 36 CFR 800.2(0), an "undertaking" consists of "any project, activity, or program that can result in changes in the character or use of historic properties, if any such properties are located within the proposed project's area of potential effects."

This project does not have the potential to result in changes to the character or use of any historic properties, therefore, the subject project does not constitute an undertaking. This finding fulfills the Department's requirements under Section 106.
