Abstract

Environmental Corporation of American (ECA) has completed an archaeological assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The proposed undertaking would include a proposed 12-foot by 12-foot lease area that would include a 165-foot overall height monopole telecommunications structure and associated ground-level support equipment. The proposed facility would be located off Garrett Way, Milledgeville, Baldwin County, Georgia. This archaeological assessment was conducted in order to ascertain whether the proposed undertaking, on the project site, might directly or indirectly affect cultural resources, if any such resources exist. ECA was contracted by Georgia Power to perform an archaeological assessment as part of the Section 106 Review process for the proposed telecommunications facility. The purpose of our work was to determine whether any archaeological sites might exist within the project impact area.
