Abstract

North Georgia Renewables, LLC wishes to construct a solar energy facility on a 7-ac (2.8-ha) tract of pasture land embedded in a larger tract in west central Union County. Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. conducted archival research and archeological survey of the tract to determine if any archeological sites listed or eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places exist within the tract. The Georgia Archaeological Site File shows that no sites are recorded within or within 1 mile of the subject tract. The field survey, conducted on June 6, 2016, discovered and investigated one archeological site, a prehistoric lithic scatter located on a ridge top that is in pasture
