Project F- 001-6(12), Catoosa County [S.R. 2 Extension] Archaeological Survey: in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, Georgia D.O.T. Project F- 001-6(12), Catoosa County [S.R. 2 Extension], was surveyed with respect to archaeological resources; especially those which may be eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. The survey entailed examination of relevant survey reports, maps, and site files, consultation with knowledgeable historians and archaeologists, and a pedestrian (walk-through) survey of the entire line, complemented by periodic placement of subsurface tests and metal detection. No National Register quality properties were located during the survey and the project will have no impact on archaeological resources.
