Abstract

Cardno, Inc. (Cardno) has completed archaeological and historic resources survey in advance of proposed improvements to an existing Atlanta Gaslight Company (AGLC) installation. The USF Glennville project proposes to replace approximately 10 miles (16.1 kilometers [km]) of the 4-inch (10.1[cm]) steel pipeline feeding Glennville/Reidsville with 8-inch (20.3 cm) steel pipe. The project corridor is located near the Altamaha River, with approximately 5 miles (8 km) of project corridor situated south of the Altamaha River, in Appling County (Section 1) and another approximately 5 miles (8 km) north of the Altamaha River, in Tattnall County (Section 2, see Figure 1). The Section 1 pipeline begins at the intersection of Summerall Road and 10 Mile Road and extends approximately 5 miles (8 km) to the northeast, generally paralleling the existing AGLC right-of-way (ROW) and terminating approximately 0.5 mile (.8 km) before reaching the Altamaha River. The Section 2 pipeline begins approximately 1.2 miles (1.2 km) east of the Altamaha River and extends approximately 5 miles (8 km) to the northeast, within the existing AGLC ROW and terminating at its intersection with State Route (SR) 178, south of Reidsville, Georgia. The pipeline will be installed within cleared and previously disturbed pipeline right-of-way (ROW).
