Abstract

Archeological Assessment of a Dodge/Laurens County Resurfacing Project. This proposed project is 8.27 miles in length and consists of shoulder paving, leveling, milling, resurfacing, and single surface treatment. This project begins in Dodge County on SR 126 beginning at MP 4.41 and ending at MP 8.12, then from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 4.56 in Laurens County. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way. No additional right-of-way is required. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
