Abstract

Proposed monopole tower telecommunication facility located in White County, Cleveland, Georgia (Latitude: 34° 37’ 2.54” Longitude: -83° 52’ 1.63”). The project location is located within a grassed animal corral with the proposed access and utility easement located within a grassed and graveled area as well as an existing gravel drive. Verizon Wireless proposes the construction of a new monopole cell tower with a total height of 195 feet (59.4 meters). The new tower and associated equipment will be situated within a proposed approximate 80 x 80-foot (24.4 x 24.4 meter) cell tower lease area. A proposed approximate 30 x 187-foot (9.1 x 57.0 meter) access and utility easement will travel generally northwest, then generally northeast to connect to Paradise Valley Road. Total acreage of the new construction area is approximately 0.15 acres (0.06 Hectares). Senior Project Archaeologist Zach Horne, M.A., RPA, and Senior Project Archaeologist Colin Bean, M.A., under the direction of Trileaf, performed this survey in response to the planned use of the above-described parcel and the potential impacts that such use might represent to archaeological and architectural cultural resources. The Phase I cultural resource survey was designed to discover all prehistoric and historical period cultural resources that might be present within the project area.
