Abstract

In accordance with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Low Impact Bridge Program (LISP), a potential bridge replacement has been identified along County Road (CR) 56/Ogeechee River Road (hereinafter referred to as Ogeechee River Road) that spans Long Creek. The current bridge, which has a maximum span length of 9.7 meters (m) (32 feet [ft]), a total structure length of 48.7 m (160 ft), and a deck width of 9.1 m (30 ft), carries two lanes of alternating traffic over Long Creek. The bridge is composed of concrete tee beams supported by four sets of partially enclosed steel H piles. The proposed bridge would be replaced on the existing alignment. The total width of the right of way (ROW) at this location is 18.3 m (60 ft).
