Abstract

It was learned that the well-documented site of Standing Peach Tree (9-Co-1) would soon be taken by the Chattahoochee Treatment Plant, a combined facility of Cobb and Fulton Counties. Since the Fulton County portion of the site (9-Fu-10) had already been destroyed in recent years, it was felt that our responsibility to the area's history demanded that we attempt to salvage the site prior to construction. This salvage project is now underway, sponsored jointly by the two Counties and the Federal Water Pollution Control Administration and contracted through the design engineers.
