The archeological fieldwork and analysis for cultural resources was conducted by the Department of Anthropology at the University of Florida as directed by the U.S. Navy Southern Engineering Command under the conditions stipulated in the Kings Bay Waterline Mitigation Proposal (Appendix A).
This study was performed as required by the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (Public Law 91-190), "Protection and Enhancement of the Cultural Environment" (Executive Order 11593) and the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (Public Law 89-665).
