Abstract

In response to a request for archaeological services from the Parks and Historic Sites Division, Department of Natural Resources (D.N.R.), the staff archaeologist of the Historic Preservation Section, Office of Planning and Research, D.N.R., conducted a survey of sites selected for proposed development at Worms low Historic Site in Chatham County (see' maps 1 and 2). Development consists of the construction of a visitor's center and a curator's residence. The proposed sites for construction were selected by the Site Planning Section staff, D.N.R. The objective of the survey is to insure that development on the selected sites at Wormslow will not unknowingly disturb or destory archaeological resources. On the 22 and 23 of February 1978, the designated sites for development were shown to staff archaeologist John R. Morgan by Wormslow site curator Ralph Reed.
