Abstract

On June 24, 1979 I conducted an archaeological assessment of portions of Troup County, Georgia to determine the future impact of sewer treatment plant construction on the historical and pre-historic resources of the area. The assessment area is illustrated in figure 1. Two archaeological sites were found. These sites, WGC 1402 (9Tp853) and WGC 1403 (9Tp852) are typical Piedmont lithic scatters and are not considered eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
