On February 5, 1983, Robert S. Webb of Claude Terry & Associates, Inc. (CTA) conducted a 100 percent coverage cultural resource pedestrian survey of proposed sewerage system improvements in Commerce, Jackson County, Georgia. A review of the site files at the University of Georgia in Athens revealed that no prehistoric or historic resources have been previously recorded within the impact zone. A surface survey and subsurface testing revealed no cultural resources. Based on our findings, CTA recommends full cultural clearance for the proposed sewerage system improvements in Commerce, Georgia.
