Abstract

The Langston substation site, Bulloch County, Georgia, is located just off Langston Church Road near Statesboro (Figure 1). It is situated on the crest of a hill (Plate 1).

The site had been cleared at the time of the survey, providing excellent surface visibility. The remains of a demolished building were evident on one portion of the site (Plate 2). Modern material-pop top lids, broken whiskey bottles--were noted in other areas. A central trench (Plate 31 was examined; no artifacts were found in the backdirt nor was any evidence of prehistoric occupation found in the trench profile.

An old farm house (Plate 4) is located .1 mile west of the substation site. it is currently occupied.

There does not appear to be anything of prehistoric or historic significance on or near the substation site which will be affected by the proposed construction.
