Abstract

The cultural resources survey of the proposed 13 km (7.8 mi) New Light Church to Orange transmission line located six prehistoric and historic archeological sites and three isolated artifact occurrences. Five of the archeological sites are prehistoric low density lithic artifact scatters. Two of these also contain historic artifact scatters but no structural remains. One historic site is an early 20th century building with some modern alterations, and is in poor condition. All six archeological sites, and the three artifact occurrences are recommended ineligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
