Abstract

A cultural resource survey of a proposed 75 acre waste water treatment site west of the City of Fairmount, Georgia was undertaken in May of 1990 by New South Associates. The purpose of this survey was insure that no potentially significant historic or prehistoric sites were impacted by construction of the new facility. Three prehistoric and one historic sites were discovered within or near the margin of the study area. All sites were badly disturbed by previous agricultural and erosional events. The sites were determined not to be significant resources and no further work is recommended.
