Abstract

In compliance with federal regulations, Oglethorpe Power Corporation sponsored an archeological survey of a proposed 14.9 ha (37 ac) substation tract on Ebenezer Road and Camp Creek in Fayette County, Georgia. An intensive survey of the tract by Southeastern Archaeological Services, which entailed the excavation of 127 shovel tests on a 30 m grid, located two artifact occurrences and no archeological sites. Since there are no sites in the area of potential effect that are eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, no further work is needed.
