In October, 1978 the United States Tennessee Valley Authority requested a preliminary archaeological survey of a proposed transmission line right of wat improvement between Murphy, North Carolina and Blairsville, Georgia. On October 21 and 22 this area was surveyed for archaeological resources by Mr. Quentin R. Bass, Department of Anthropology, University of Tennessee. No archaeological sites were recorded in survey of the designated impact area.
