Abstract

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the Ocmulgee East road improvements and widening, Bibb County, Georgia on October 22 and 23, 1998. The survey of the approximately two mile corridor consisted of various improvements along Ocmulgee East, Weaver Road and White Elks Spring Road, all located in a heavily developed, primarily industrial, area. No previously recorded archaeological sites are recorded within the confines of the project corridor, but several important sites are nearby. No new archaeological sites were discovered during the course of the survey. No additional archaeological study of project corridor is recommended.
