Abstract

On September 7, 2000, Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., conducted a Phase I archeological survey of proposed improvements to a portion of Chastain Road and the Barrett Parkway/1-575 interchange in Cobb County, Georgia. The work was conducted for the Georgia Department of Transportation, through the engineering firm of Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. The amount of proposed new right-of-way is minimal (less than 10 m wide), and will be restricted largely to areas to that have already been severely disturbed for recent developments. No archeological resources were recorded within the project area. Thus, the proposed undertaking will not adversely affect any significant archeological sites.
