Abstract

In June 2000, TRC Garrow Associates (TRC) conducted data recovery excavations at Cumberland Rockshelter (9GW393) in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The investigations were conducted in conjunction with Williams Gas Pipeline-Transco's South Coast Expansion Project. The shelter was occupied at least once during the during the Cartersville phase of the Middle Woodland period; according to the available evidence, that occupation may have been a single, short-term encampment that occurred sometime between A.D. 300 and A.D. 500.
