Abstract

A cultural resources survey of the bridge crossing of the Little River on SR 135 in Echols County, Georgia, was conducted by New South Associates June 19, 21, and 22, 2001. A 1,300 foot approach with a 400 foot wide right-of-way was studied on each side of the bridge. One Mississippian Period archaeological site (9Ec3) was located within the right-of-way on the east side of the bridge. Site 9Ec3 is recommended potentially eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
